Finally, :icon19-10: and I have finished our collab.
We've been working on this for far too long, trying to fine tune it, but now it's done. Yay!

This is our take on a Terraspace theme that was going to happen a long time ago, until the group died, again.

Basically, this is the human element added into natural, and what the end result is, no huge story, take it as you will.

Months of work went into this, so I hope you like it. Don't forget that this is a rollover, so look at both images. We'll be adding the images individually at some point.

Thanks for Looking, and don't forget to give :icon19-10: a watch
Sacha

:edit: made image smaller, larger resolutions will be uploaded later

Wow! I really like the difference between the two images. The erosion was nice, and I quite liked the little bits stuck in there like a cross on that rock thing in the middle. Very cool indeed.

Yes - humans are bad - and unnatural.
How will the planet ever survive us?
The earth has never encountered anything as devastating as humanity in the billions of years that it has had life.
Damn global warming.

amazing stuff! I love it and I know how long you guys have been working on this.. really cool to see its finished:)

only comments I have is that in the ';peacefull' version that deer on the far hill (the hill with the waterfalls) looks a bit out of scale.. its far too big.. and in the war version there is a HUUGE cross on top of a mountain in the valley:P why:P? hahaha

but yea outstanding work guys:)! this is awesome!

For the scale of the deer, take a look at the tree in the background behind the deer. It'll make more sense. I agree that it's a little big, but not so much, the waterfall is maybe on a smaller scale than you think. . .think bubbling brook instead :)

As for the cross, that's for you to interpret. It's not just random, but you should figure out what it means to you

It doesn't seem to work very well: it keeps getting stuck on the war version unless I use the download button. (I'm currently using Firefox on the 64-bit version of Ubuntu)

Other than that, nice artwork!

hmmm, it works fine for me on MacOSX and Safari. We didn't really know how to make a flash image like this so it functions for all browsers etc. I hope you can look past it :)

This is really well done indeed!
I love the attention to detail, especially within the valley.
It kinda tripped me out when I first saw it, the thumb in my message center showed the 'destruction' picture, but when I opened it, there was the lovely nature scene... :giggle: I think my face went :wtf:
I would love you too submit the two seperately, I think they would make great prints.
Anyway, well done to the both of you!

Thanks a lot. I used the other thumbnail because I thought it might be more obvious then that you needed to rollover to see both images.
Don't worry, we're definitely going to get these out separately and for prints.
Glad you like it :)

I'm not sure that I'm right, but I imagine you meant it to be one of two things: a symbol of hope amidst violence and hostility, or as the root cause of it?

Brilliant! I can see the human element as the destructive (and inevitable). I noticed that some of the rock formations slight picture to picture, but I don't believe these small quirks take away from the image at all. Both images are breathtaking, and everyone involved in this collaboration has done a fantastic job! Kudos to all the talent in this project.

Well, for the rock formations, we tried to line them up exactly, but we couldn't find all the right stock images, or it just didn't work out, we have quite few versions made with that fixed, but it looked bad, and wrong. We figured maybe it could be many many years from one image to the next, perhaps in the first it's before the dawn of man, so the landscape could have changed a bit, especially since there is some volcanic emission.

Yea, absolutely! I considered that in the final image. Like I said, I have no issues with this image at all. It's stunning! It's also heartbreaking. I see the world like this eventually. A lot of modern technology is the result of one mans sci-fi dream turned movie or show. I see matrix plugs in the future. (there are already prototypes that are disability-specific)

Well done to you and your team! :highfive:
