wonderful - I love the thought of looking down on such a vast and detailed landscape, and the contrast between the shadow and the sunshine gives it a really nice balance, as well as that kind of bottomless feeling that you get when you look down like that.
I'll just slip this in here... I'm sorry you didn't win with this. It really was dramatic and compelling! Poor Mike must have had a hell of a time deciding... but you have my congratulations and envy for making it out at 4th!
I've heard you can get up to 8000^2; that's fairly impressive. I tend to use 1024, it usually doesn't take too long but you can get fairly good results from it. Works best for me though, others have their own preferences.
NICE POV!! I'm practically getting vertigo just looking down the valley from here. lol I think those black mountains are essential for the scale effect too. Wonderful surfaces and I love the strong lighting too. Well done, Sacha!
